Dr. VanDeWalle has an excellent record both as a Doctor of Chiropractic and a community servant. Taking full advantage of the great lifestyle and weather that Austin has to offer, Dr. VanDeWalle opened his Gonstead chiropractic practice in 1981. He practiced previously for four years in Davenport, Iowa.
Involvement in community activities plays an important role in Dr. VanDeWalle’s life. He has coached rugby, basketball, and little league baseball, and served as chairman on the War on Drugs Committee for the Balcones Lions Club. Also, the Texas Jaycees honored Dr. VanDeWalle for originating and developing the Adopt a Nursing Home project and was selected to Outstanding Young Men of America. He has also served as Education Chair for the Capitol Area Texas Association of Business.
Professionally Dr. VanDeWalle has held several association officer positions and is a former editor of the Texas Journal of Chiropractic. In addition he has conducted extremity adjusting and athletic injury seminars for the chiropractic profession and has participated as a team teacher for Workers Compensation Reduction Seminars sponsored by the Texas Safety Association and the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Dr. VanDeWalle, a BACKSAFE affiliate and instructor, trains employees on safe work habits for several local business and government entities. Peak Performance and Stress Reduction education and training classes are available and encouraged for all his patients. Dr. VanDeWalle has always maintained the philosophy that the greatest service a professional can provide is to prevent what he treats.
